Islamic Year End Prayers & Islamic New Year Prayers That You Can Practice | The Islamic year Hijriyah will soon end. It's the same as the Christian year as it approaches the end of the year, we will certainly be sad because this year will end but there are still many traits in us that we have not addressed and targets that we have not achieved. And will also welcome the new year with joy with the hope that we will be better in the future.
As faithful Muslims, of course, we want to end the Islamic year with a good thing such as prayer and welcome the new year with a good prayer. Here are the prayers for the end of the Islamic year and the prayers for the beginning of the Islamic year that we can practice.
A. Islamic Year End Prayer
اَللَّهُمَّ مَا عَمِلْتُ مِنْ عَمَلٍ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مَا نَهَيْتَنِي عَنْهُ وَلَمْ أَتُبْ مِنْه وَحَلُمْتَ فِيْها عَلَيَّ بِفَضْلِكَ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِكَ عَلَى عُقُوبَتِي وَدَعَوْتَنِي إِلَى التَّوْبَةِ مِنْ بَعْدِ جَرَاءَتِي عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ فَإِنِّي اسْتَغْفَرْتُكَ فَاغْفِرْلِي وَمَا عَمِلْتُ فِيْهَا مِمَّا تَرْضَى وَوَعَدْتَّنِي عَلَيْهِ الثّوَابَ فَأَسْئَلُكَ أَنْ تَتَقَبَّلَ مِنِّي وَلَا تَقْطَعْ رَجَائِ مِنْكَ يَا كَرِيْمُ
Arabic : Allahumma ma amiltu min amalin fi hadzihissanati ma nahaitanianhu, wa lam atub minhu, wa halumta fiha alayya bi fadhlika ba'da qudrotika ala uqubati, wa da autani ilat taubati min ba'di jaro ati ala mashiyatika. Fa inni astaghfiruka, faghfirlî wa ma amiltu fiha mimma tardho, wa wa attani alaihits tsawaba, fa as aluka an tataqabbala minni wa la taqtho' roja'i minka ya karim."
Meaning: O my Lord, I ask forgiveness for all my actions this year, including those that You forbade while I have not repented, my actions which You understand because of Your generosity while You are able to torture me, & the sins that You commanded to repent while I was doing them. means to disobey You. Therefore I ask You for forgiveness, forgive me. O my Lord, I hope that You accept my deeds which You are pleased with this year and my deeds for which You have promised Your reward. Do not give up hope for me, O Most Gracious God. You can read the above prayer towards the end of the Islamic year. Usually read before the Asr prayer because the turn of the day in Islam is after the Asr prayer.
B. Early Islamic New Year Prayer 1 Muharram
اَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الأَبَدِيُّ القَدِيمُ الأَوَّلُ وَعَلَى فَضْلِكَ العَظِيْمِ وَكَرِيْمِ جُوْدِكَ المُعَوَّلُ، وَهَذَا عَامٌ جَدِيْدٌ قَدْ أَقْبَلَ، أَسْأَلُكَ العِصْمَةَ فِيْهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَأَوْلِيَائِه، وَالعَوْنَ عَلَى هَذِهِ النَّفْسِ الأَمَّارَةِ بِالسُّوْءِ، وَالاِشْتِغَالَ بِمَا يُقَرِّبُنِيْ إِلَيْكَ زُلْفَى يَا ذَا الجَلَالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
Arabic : Allahumma antal abadiyyul qadîmul awwal. Wa ala fadhlikal azhimi wa karimi judikal muawwal. Hadza amun jadidun qad aqbal. Asalukal ishmata fihi minas syaithani wa auliya ih, wal auna 'ala hadzihin nafsil ammarati bis su i, wal isytighala bima yuqarribuni ilaika zulfa, ya dzal jalali wal ikrom.
Meaning: O my Lord, You are the Eternal, the Qadim, and the Beginning. for all Your great gifts and Your glorious mercy, You are the door of hope. The new year has now arrived. I seek refuge in You from the seduction of the devil & his saints in this year. I also hope for Your help in overcoming the passions which often encourage me to behave evilly. To You, I ask for guidance so that my daily activities bring me closer to Your grace. O Lord of Greatness & Glory.
The prayer above is read after the Asr shalat because the turn of the day in Islam itself is after the Asr prayer.
