Dating In Islam Is It Allowed? The following Is An Explanation Of The Dating Law According To Islam | Dating is a relationship between two human beings consisting of a man and a woman. Dating is usually done as an attempt to find a mate and to get to know a person more deeply about the nature and personality of a person before deciding whether to proceed to marriage or not. In this day and age, courtship is only used to seek pleasure and to satisfy lust for a moment
For those of you who are in love but want to know how the law concept of dating in Islam is to avoid being trapped in sin, then you are in the right place. Here I will discuss the law of courtship from an Islamic point of view.
Dating Law in Islam
There are two types of courtship law according to Islam, that is :
Prohibited Dating
Dating is a relationship that is formed between a man and a woman because it is based on a sense of like & compatibility. When dating, people often feel that the world belongs only to the two of them and enjoy just two of them even in lonely places. In the Hadith of Muslim History, the Prophet Muhammad said that:
عَنْ أَبِي مَعْبَدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ يَقُولُ: «لَا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ، وَلَا تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ إِلَّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَم
Meaning: "It is not permissible for a man and a woman to be alone unless accompanied by her muhrim, and a woman cannot travel unless accompanied by her mahram." (Hadith Muslim).
Dating can also make those who are dating provoked to make physical contact and even commit adultery when they are alone in a lonely place. Adultery is an act that is hated by Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala as explained in the following Surah Al Isra :
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَسَاءَ سَبِيلًا
Meaning: "And do not approach adultery, for verily adultery is an abominable act and a bad way." (Quran Surah Al Isra: 32).
Therefore, to avoid ourselves from sin, we better avoid dating. If we as men have been able then there is nothing wrong with us for immediately getting married. And if we are not able, then fast to refrain from lust.
Meaning: The Messenger of Allah said to us, "O young men, which of you is capable, then get married. For indeed marriage can restrain or maintain sight (from immorality) & guard the genitals (from forbidden sexual relations) & whoever is not able, let him fast because fasting will be a control for him ". (Hadith Bukhari and Hadith Muslim).
Allowed Dating
The terms of dating in Islam that are allowed are dating after marriage. After we get married we are free to express our feelings of love to our partner, get to know our partner more deeply and establish a closer and more intense relationship. And even all those expressions of love can become worship that gets a reward for those who do it after doing a marriage. Allah SWT has wrapped everything neatly in the marriage bond.

Playing With Wife Is Rewarding
The Messenger of Allah said: Playing (which has benefits) there are 3 : you tame your horse, you shoot your arrow, you play with your wife (Hadith History of Ishaq Bin Ibrahim Al Qurrab explained in Fadhail Ar Ramyi Number 13 from Abud Darda's friend, authenticated by Al-Albani in Sahih Al Jami 5498).
A Husband's Livelihood On His Wife Is Charity
The Messenger of Allah said: If a Muslim man provides a living for his family, and he hopes for a reward from it, then that living is worth charity ( Hadith Bukhari No. 5351).
Giving Birth To The Next Generation That Will Strengthen Islam
The Messenger of Allah recommended that his ummah choose a pious and fertile wife. This is based on the hadith below: Marry a loving & fertile woman! Because I am proud of the number of my ummah (Hadith by An Nasa'I, Abu Dawud. Hasanan by Al Albani in Misykatul Mashabih).
Making Out & Connecting With Wife Is A Reward
The intimate relationship between you is charity. The companions then asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how is it possible if we go to our wives with lust instead of getting a reward? " The Prophet replied, " Isn't it if you have sex with an unlawful woman, you get a sin ? Likewise, if you have sex with a lawful woman, then you will get a reward " (Hadith Muslim Number 1006 ).
Strengthening Each Other's Faith For The Sake Of Reaching Heaven
A pious wife is able to increase the faith of a husband and vice versa. Therefore, when we want to get married, choose a pious wife. That way our faith will be stronger and we will be more istiqomah. "So keep istiqamah as you are commanded & (also) commanded to those who repent with you" (Quran Surah Hud: 112). "The state of a person's religion is seen from the religious state of his close friends. So let you see who his close friends are." ( Hadith Tirmidhi ).
Dating after marriage is a cool thing. Two human beings can express their love for each other without fear of being hindered by space and time. Married after courtship also makes us free to express our love. And most amazingly, all of these things are worth worshiping before our Creator.
